RANACO MARINE in Kemaman, Terengganu, Malaysia is a supplier of Computer Based Training (CBT), offering the most complete and extensive marine library available to the industry today.

Our library of CBT modules, consists of a large collection of interactive CD’d served from our computer labs located at our Training Centre, Kamaman, Terengganu, Malaysia.

The computer labs have been developed to help ship owners, agents and Chatterers in Malaysia provide crew training solutions that will enable them to operate vessels safely and more efficiently.

To be effective, our CBT modules have been designed to be user friendly and simple to use for crew members to use and understand.

Using audio, visuals and text, crew members are lead through a series of training sessions designed by experienced seafarers to meet today’s highest standards.

The structure of these training modules has been developed over many years, drawing on expertise of marine training administrators, user feedback and experienced staff and developers.

 ◊ Onboard Library

Our Onboard Library consists of a large collection of Computer based Training (CBT) modules and selected DVD films.

New titles are constantly added in response to the industry and customer requirements, and existing modules are revised for the same reasons.

A CBT Module is a dedicated multimedia program consisting of several lessons followed by an an assessment. Here, several random questions are asked and answered and once performed, the score and degree of completion is reported to the administrative tool for recording.

Lessons are given with a sequential text, illustrations, animations and video clips.

A training session can be interrupted at any time and resumed later on, however the assessment can only be performed once.

The onboard library offers titles in all function areas of the STCW -95.

Each CBT module shares a common structure:

• A definition of learning objectives
• Multimedia learning divided into relatively short chapters to motivate seafarers progress
• Assessment section, providing questions and interactive exercises
• A report which provides details of how much of any given CBT modules has been completed, how long it took, and what marks the crew members achieved in the assessment.
