Engineer Officer

What is it?

Engineer < 750 kWa a program approved by Malaysia Marine Department.

This course is designed to provide trainees with the knowledge,understanding and proficiency at operational level for the function of marine engineering,electrical,electronic and control engineering,maintenance and repair.

After completing the course, participants will take an oral exam with Malaysia Marine Department.

If they pass the exam, they will be accredited by Malaysia Marine Department as an individual who is competent to be an Engineer Officer for ships less than 750kWa on a near coastal voyage.

Entry Requirements

• 18 years of age and above
• Medically fit
• Normal colour vision

Oral Exam Requirements

• Posses BST and Seaman Card (chip) from Malaysia Marine Department.
• Has completed the approved education and training course not less than 18 months as an Engine room rating or an assistant to Watch-Keeping officer or
• 24 months of sea going service in an engine department.

Course Duration

Thirty (30) days.
