PTPTN - Terms of Loan

 

Students are eligible to apply for education loans if they fulfill the following conditions:

1.                   Are a Malaysian citizen

 

2.                   Not exceeding 45 years of age on date of application

 

3.                   Passed Malaysia Certificate of Education (SPM) with credits in any 3 subjects

 

4.                   IPTA students must be registered to the approved program by the IPTA Management Department, Ministry of Higher Education

 

5.                   Polytechnic students must register to pursue courses approved by the Polytechnic Management Department and Community College of the Ministry of Higher Education.

 

6.                   IPTS students must be registered to the approved program by the IPTS Management Department, Ministry of Higher Education and obtained the Accreditation Certificate from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). The course and Accreditation Certificate approval period must still be valid on the date of application; IPTS which do not obtained Accreditation Certificate for the program can submit their application for their students before 1st January 2006.

 

7.                   All students must possess entry requirements determined by the Ministry of Higher Education to pursue the course. For students with qualifications that differ from that stipulated, verification that the said qualification is equivalent to the required qualification must be obtained from IPTA Management Departments, Polytechnic Management Department and Community College, IPTS Management Department and Malaysian Qualification Agencies;

 

8.                   Have no other sponsor

 

 

Please Note:

For those who wish to apply for education loan, please make sure to provide CASH RM20.00 FOR THE PURPOSE OF STAMP DUTY and to be handed to officer in charge for loan agreement. This is to make sure the smoothness of agreement process and a copy of due completed agreement will be given for student copy.     As of:  1st November 2005.

 

LOAN AMOUNT FOR DIPLOMA PROGRAMS

(a) Loan amount per semester for a student is RM4,000.00 (SUBJECT TO CHANGE).

       

(b) PTPTN will review student financial ability based on family income to determine the illegibleness. Decisions made by PTPTN  is final.


TRANSMITTAL OF APPLICATIONS

(a) For IPTS student, application needs to be sent through IPTS respectively. Only applications which occupy following term will be processed:

 

 (i) Courses must be approved by Private Education Department, Ministry of Education.

 

 (ii) Student needs to allow terms of credit that is fixed by Private Education Department for (i) term.

 

 (b) Complete application will be processed as soon as possible in stipulated dates.

 

 (c) Incomplete application form will not be treated. As such students are required to complete the form closely before submits applications. Application with no response within six (6) month must be considered unsuccessful and student advised reapply if still keen to obtain loans PTPTN.

SUSPENSION OF LOAN PAYMENT

The payment of loans will be suspended for a particular semester for the following reasons:

(a)  A student obtains a GPA of less than 2.0.

 

 (b) A student defers studies.

 

(c)  Failed to further studies in level, course, IPT approved during loan application.


PAYMENT CESSATION

(a)  Loan payment will be terminated when students fail to continue their studies in their fields of study or in the IPT specified during application for the loan.

 

(b) Students are required to repay the amount obtained from PTPTN for the duration of their studies as specified in the loan agreement.

 

(c) Appeals to defer payment or re-scheduling must be submitted to PTPTN if the students cannot repay the amount borrowed.

 

PREPARATION FOR LOAN APPLICATION

(a) Have accounts in Bumiputra Commerce Bank (BCB) and copy of account book / statement of account need to be included. 

 

(b) Copy of the identity card

 

(c)  SPM Certificate's Copy (For student which finished SPM less than 2 years,    you permitted to submit copy of examination result slip and for student have completed SPM more than 2 years, you required to submit copy of SPM certificate result).

 

(d)  Copy of parents Income Slip for employers, if not please fill up income confirmation form appended in PTPTN loan application's form

 

(e)  J's Form (Income tax form) all copy documents stated from a – e need to be confirmed by:

 

(i)                            All 3rd grade government official / group A and E on in Ministry / Federal Department and State / District Office / IPTA / school and others. 

(ii)                          Peacemaker Oath Commissioner and Prosecutor               

(iii)                         Senator / representative

(iv)                       Headman / Head / Community Chief / Conference / District Development Officer / JKKK chairman (Village Development and Security Committee). 

(v)                         To SABAH and Sarawak - Leader Of Race / head of the native / Kapitan / Pemanca / Park Officer Sabah           .

(vi)                       College officials elected by PTPTN
